We like to say thank you
NGBs and clubs will have their own award schemes but here at Global VX we have four main awards
Hall of Fame
Legends Gallery
Person of the Year
Executive Awards
Hall of Fame
The Hall of Fame award is intended to be made every two years, however we have been hit hard by Covid and there have been no awards made recently. This award is for people who have made an outstanding contribution to the growth of the sport in their area.
Nominations can be made by any registered member anywhere in the world. A nomination should include a written account of what the nominee has achieved and why they should be considered.
Legends Gallery
This award is for players who have achieved an immense amount in the sport. It came about as a highly-successful Scottish player, Scott MacMichael, was nominated for Hall of Fame inclusion by VX Scotland. However Scott's achievements were on court and not in the promotion or development of the sport, therefore it was decided to create the 'Legends' gallery and Scott became the first member. The 'Legends' award is ad hoc and not tied to a timetable
Person of the Year
This is an annual award made to recognise someone who has made a significant contribution to the sport over the previous year. the winner of the Person of the Year Award is announced each January. The winner has their name engraved on a trophy and receives a plaque.
Executive Awards
Executive Awards are announced the same time as the Person of the Year Award and are intended as a simple 'thank you' for people who have gone above and beyond for the sport in some way. The Executive Award takes the form of a certificate.
